The Itinerary

Day 1 | Ulaanbaatar City

Welcome to Mongolia-the Country of Eternal Blue Sky and the land of Nomads. Upon your arrival at Chinggis Khaan Airport, Laguna Stella Team will be waiting to welcome you!

Transfer to the hotel centrally located in downtown Ulaanbaatar and enjoy some walking chill-out around Sukhbaatar Square, the very center of Ulaanbaatar. After having dinner at a restaurant, stay overnight at your hotel.

Day 2 | Altai Mountain region

Far to the west, explore the great scenery of Bayan Ulgii. After breakfast, we will take a local flight that continues up to 4 hours to reach the westernmost region of the country. Bayan Ulgii province is famous for its ethnic group Kazakhs breeding and training hunter eagles for centuries. Bayan Ulgii province is also home to Altain Mountain Hills and Altai Tavan Bogd range, the highest of all in Mongolia. After reaching our local camp near the Ulgii town, we will settle and take rest followed with some walking chill-out. In the evening we enjoy our dinner and overnight.

Day 3 | Lake Khoton

Pristine clear lake and scenery of Altai mountains. After our early breakfast, we will drive across hills and mountain roads to discover Lake Khoton, a magnificent lake located just among Altai mountains in the west. Enjoy hiking around the lake shores and have your picnic meals in the wilderness. After having some leisure in the nature, we head to a Kazakh family for your stay and meeting their unique life style which was preserved for centuries.

Day 4-5 | Experience Kazakh lifestyle

Take your Kazakh traditional Ger and stay as eagle hunter. Rise with the morning of Kazakh family and attend to their morning meal. Then take a short horse riding and see how they prepare and train their eagles for hunting throughout the year. This tradition is very integral part of their life in the wilderness. It is also great opportunity to take remarkable photos and share very memorable moments with this hospitable folks. The whole day is for your leisure and reflections on how life could even be so different in Altai Mountains. Enjoy traditional Kazakh meals and stay overnight.

Day 6-7 | Tavan Bogd Peak

Our excursion towards Altai Tavan Bogd Peaks starts today. After 1-2 hours of driving, we will reach our tenting camping area. After taking relaxation, we will continue our journey on horse-back to observe the peak.

Day 8 | Ulaanbaatar and Leisure time

Today, we take a late afternoon flight to Ulaanbaatar. Today is for your leisure time in the city.

Day 9 | Ulaanbaatar discovery

Today we will visit Gandan Monastery and National History Museum. After that, we also visit Mongolian State Department store and Gobi/Goyo Cashmere. Mongolian is well known for its fine and quality cashmere products. In the evening we will attend to Tumen Ekh Folklore Concert which famous for its wide variety of dance and singing performances as blessings to your journey. We will have a farewell dinner at one of Mongolia's prestigious restaurant.

Day 10 | Departure

Your driver and Trip Leader/Guide will take you to the Airport for your departure.
