Day 1 | Ulaanbaatar City

Welcome to Mongolia, the Land of the Eternal Blue Sky and the Land of Nomads. Upon your arrival at Chinggis Khaan Airport, the Laguna Stella Team will be eagerly awaiting your arrival, ready to extend a warm welcome!

We will arrange a comfortable transfer to your hotel, conveniently located in downtown Ulaanbaatar. Take some time to relax and enjoy a leisurely walk around Sukhbaatar Square, the vibrant heart of Ulaanbaatar. Experience the bustling atmosphere and soak in the city's unique charm. Later, delight in a delicious dinner at a local restaurant before retiring for the night at your hotel, ensuring a restful stay.

Day 2 | Yol Valley

After breakfast, we'll fly to Dalanzadgad town for a 2-hour journey. Then, we'll transfer you to your Ger camp for relaxation. We'll visit the renowned Yoliin Am, also known as the Vulture's Valley, with its unique rock formations and frozen ice even in summer. A visit to the local museum will provide insights into the valley's natural wonders and cultural heritage. Immerse yourself in the breathtaking beauty and remarkable geological formations of Yoliin Am, truly appreciating the wonders of nature in this stunning part of Mongolia.

Day 3 | Khongor Sand Dunes

After a relaxing morning at the camp, we'll continue our journey to the Khongor Sand dunes, located in the southwest. The drive will take approximately 4 hours to reach our destination. Once we arrive at our camp near the sand dunes, you can unwind and enjoy a short hike around the dunes to witness the breathtaking sunset in the Gobi Desert. Dinner will be served, and you'll spend the night at the camp, surrounded by the enchanting ambiance of the desert.

Day 4 | Khongor Sand Dunes (Trekking)

In the morning, we'll take a short transfer to the Khongor Sand Dunes, also known as Khongoriin Els, which are the highest dunes in the Gobi region of Mongolia. Prepare for an unforgettable experience as we embark on a camel trek with our knowledgeable local guide. Riding on Mongolian two-humped camels, known for their relaxed and gentle nature, we'll venture deeper into the sand dunes. It's an amazing opportunity to explore the dunes and create lasting memories of your time in Mongolia.

Day 5 | “Bayanzag” The Flaming Cliffs

Today, we'll visit Bayanzag, also known as the Flaming Cliffs. This iconic site is where archaeologists discovered complete dinosaur skeletons from over 70 million years ago. The vibrant orange rocks create a unique and memorable experience, allowing us to connect with the ancient history of this remarkable landscape.

Day 6 | Ongi Temple & Resort

After breakfast, we'll set off towards the Ongi Temple ruin, an ancient Buddhist temple complex that was unfortunately destroyed in the 1930s. However, the enchanting ruins still remain and are worth exploring. As we journey through the day, you'll witness a shift in the landscape from the vast Gobi plains to the limitless beauty of the semi-desert. In the evening, we'll settle into the Ongi camp, where you can relax and enjoy the serene surroundings.

Day 7 | Erdene Zuu Monastery and Kharakorum

We'll depart for Khangai-Kheer, a region of steppe and mountains. Our excursion will take us to the Erdene Zuu Monastery and the ruins of Karakorum, the capital of the Mongol Empire in the 12th Century. This historical site, enclosed by impressive walls and adorned with 108 white Tibetan chortens, was once one of the major centers of Lamaist Buddhism outside of Tibet. Although many of the hundred temples housed inside the city walls were destroyed in the 1930s, the monastery still holds great cultural significance. Enjoy the picturesque scenery around the Orkhon River from our campsite and spend the night in this serene location.

Day 8 | Tsenkher Hot Spring

Continuing our journey to the northern region, we will explore the breathtaking mountains and steppe. Today's highlight is the visit to Tsenkher Hot Spring, the second hottest spring in Mongolia, following Shargaljuut spring. With water temperatures reaching 86 degrees Celsius, this alkaline spring contains hydrosulfuric acid and silica union, making it ideal for medical treatments.

Tsenkher Hot Spring is renowned for its therapeutic properties and is often used to treat conditions such as rheumatism, neuralgia, muscular pain, and arthralgia. Additionally, it aids in improving the digestive system and boosting immunity. Whether through drinking the water in small doses or indulging in a rejuvenating bath for a specific duration, the spring offers various ways to benefit from its healing properties.

Day 9-10 | Lake Terkhi and Khorgo Volcano

After a relaxing morning and a satisfying breakfast at your Ger camp, we will embark on a drive to the picturesque Lake Terkhi region. Upon arrival, we will have the opportunity to explore the impressive Khorgo volcano, which has been dormant since ancient times. Enjoy a delightful hike through the surrounding grasslands, taking in the natural beauty of the area.

Our adventure continues as we discover Lake Terkhi (also known as Terkhiin Tsagaan Lake) nearby. This stunning lake was formed by a massive flow of white-hot lava that once blocked the path of the Terkhi River. Today, it spans an impressive 16 kilometers in length, reaches a depth of 20 meters, and covers an area of 61 square kilometers.

Prepare to be captivated by the serene beauty of Lake Terkhi as we take in the breathtaking views and immerse ourselves in the tranquil atmosphere of this remarkable natural wonder.

Day 11 | Khangai Mountain Passage

Our journey through the Khangai Mountain ranges to the scenic Khuvsgul province offers a glimpse into Mongolian nomadic life and stunning natural beauty. Upon reaching our Ger camp, unwind and enjoy the tranquility of the surroundings. Indulge in a traditional Mongolian meal, savoring the flavors and experiencing the warm hospitality of the local culture. It will be an evening filled with memorable moments, immersing you in the traditions and hospitality of Mongolia.

Day 12 | Lake Khuvsgul

After enjoying an early breakfast, we will start our journey towards the breathtaking Lake Khuvsgul. Upon reaching your Ger camp, take a moment to unwind and appreciate the serene beauty of the surrounding nature.

The evening is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Indulge in a delicious local dinner at the camp, savoring the flavors of Mongolian cuisine. Immerse yourself in the cozy atmosphere of your Mongolian yurt, allowing yourself to fully relax and unwind. If you're feeling adventurous, take a short hike along the picturesque lake shores, or perhaps visit some local families in the area to learn more about their way of life. It will be a tranquil and unforgettable evening, surrounded by the pristine beauty of Lake Khuvsgul.

Day 13 | Excursion Day

After a relaxing morning, we'll enjoy a horse riding tour and a boat excursion on Lake Khuvsgul. The lake is the largest freshwater lake in Mongolia, second largest in Asia, and surrounded by stunning mountains. We'll also have the opportunity to meet the Reindeer Herders, a unique Mongolian ethnic group. Get ready for unforgettable experiences in this breathtaking region.

Day 14 | Ulaanbaatar city

After a late afternoon flight back to Ulaanbaatar, we will check in to our hotel. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy at your leisure. Take a stroll around the city center, soak in the vibrant atmosphere, and spend quality time with your guide. Explore the local attractions, indulge in shopping or dining, or simply relax and unwind. Enjoy the freedom to explore Ulaanbaatar at your own pace.

Day 15 | Ulaanbaatar, the city tour

Today, we will visit Gandan Monastery, the spiritual center of Mongolia. Explore the Mongolian State Department store and Goyo Cashmere for quality cashmere products. In the evening, enjoy the Folklore Concert, showcasing captivating dance and singing performances. We'll conclude with a farewell dinner at a prestigious restaurant hosted by our tour crew.
